We’ve always had the desire to work with elderberry as it is known for its medicinal uses especially as cold season arises. We had the honor of sourcing elderberry from Shewatuck Farm, a sprawling 91 acre organic vegetable, herb and mushroom farm.
We took the elderberry fresh from the farm and simmered it to eliminate toxins from the berry and created a syrup using locally sourced honey. We brewed locally grown lemon balm and flavored it with the elderberry syrup, finishing it with locally grown basil and a touch of lemon juice.
The flavors are tart, lightly sweet and refreshing. We hope you enjoy.
